The Historic Ard Godfrey House in Minneapolis will end its summer tour season a week early, with Sunday, August 29th the last date for regular 2004 summer hours. Summer hours are Friday through Sunday, Noon - 3:30 p.m. Regular weekend hours will resume in May 2005. No admission fee is charged, but donations are welcome. Special tours may be scheduled year-around by making arrangements with the Ard Godfrey House Committee at the Minneapolis Woman’s Club, at 612-870-8001. The Godfrey House is the oldest remaining wood frame house in Minneapolis, first occupied by Ard Godfrey, a millwright, and his wife Harriet Godfrey in 1849. 50 University Ave. NE
The Ard Godfrey House has been maintained by volunteers from the Women's Club of Minneapolis since 1990. |
